How do I change my printer settings to print in black and white only?

I have done this before, but now I do not have the option to do so in printing preferences. I have a Canon MP160 printer/scanner. Driving me crazy!How do I change my printer settings to print in black and white only?
There are two ways to get what you want.





1. Since you only use the black ink, go to Printers %26amp; Faxes and right-click your printer and select properties. On first tab, select printing preferences. From here directions vary depending on printer driver but look thru tabs and find an option to print greyscale.





2. Second option is that every time you print, when the window opens to select a printer to print to, select Properties and do same as in option 1.





If you go with option one and want to print in color, basically follow steps in option 2How do I change my printer settings to print in black and white only?
Before you print usually there is a box popup.


1. Select your printer.


2. Properties.





Or if you want to change it to default. (window)





1. Go to Start --- %26gt; Control Panel (Vista)


* or Printer %26amp; Fax (XP) or Setting (older version)


2. select Printer


3. right click on your printer


4. Select ';Properties';


5. Click on ';Printing Preferences';


6. On the Main tab, click on the 'Grayscale Printing' check-box to select it. (or Uncheck if you want to print color again)


7. Click the 'OK' button to save the setting.

when a little printer settings window comes simply set it to print in ';gray scale'; and for colour put it to ';Color print';
look for an option call greyscale under printer preference.
