Why is my printer loping off the tops of letters in Word 2003 only?

This problem just cropped up and is only a problem when trying to print a Word document. The printer works fine when printing in Publisher, Notepad, and Excel. When printing a Word document, the upper parts of letters, such as the tops of capital letters and letters like h, l, b, and d, get the tops lopped off. Since the printer works fine in other programs, this must be a Word 2003 problem. Does anyone have an idea on how this can be fixed? Why is my printer loping off the tops of letters in Word 2003 only?
try re-installing your word 2003 and restart and then make a print

if the same problem continues then better run a full hard disk virus scan
