How can I prevent someone from using a printer?

My annoying office mate keeps on using our department's printer. But is not giving any share for the ink's cost. And she prints heavily! How can I prevent her from using the printer? Do I need to tweak something in the printer's settings or on her laptop? The printer is HP, via USB not network.How can I prevent someone from using a printer?

Either disconnect the USB cable from her computer, or clip the wire. Or, ';borrow'; some money from her purse while she is away.
Not possible, since she has unrestricted physical access to the printer.





Your options are to either make it a network printer and secure the USB connection, or to seek her supervisor for a remedy. If you are a supervisor, putting her job on the line / formal discipline is probably the most practical way to go about solving this.
When you open up your running system open control panel and go to printers so:


Control Panel/Printers/(your printer). Now right click and go to properties. Then click security. Now you mess with the settings until it blocks her. Or basically use the deny on her computer name. e-mail for more help
