How do you scan a picture onto your computer?

I have a dell, and the printer is a Dell v305. Someone told me to go to control panel, then printers. But once I do that all It shows is a picture of 3 printers? So I don't know. Usually I'm good with figuring stuff out, but apparently not this time (: Help?How do you scan a picture onto your computer?
you can put the picture in your scanner and then go to control panel, then printers and scanners. and preview your picture fix it the way you want it. there you go :D i scan stuff all the time! ;D
